What Is Medical Qigong

Medical Qigong has been used in ancient China and modern-day China to treat a wide variety of illnesses and diseases. Medical Qigong is often used as complementary and alternative medicine in conjunction with Chinese Medicine herbs and even now western medicine. It focuses more on meridian pathways, electromagnetic energy, internal organs, and bones of the body.

Medical Qigong is one of the 4 main components of Chinese Medicine along with acupuncture, herbs, and tui na. Medical Qigong was modernized after the Cultural Revolution and synthesized to be used as a complementary and alternative medicine for the general public.

What Is Taoist Medical Qigong

Taoist Medical Qigong was developed over 2000 years ago. Taoist practitioners found that patients with a medical diagnosis were healing faster when incorporating dynamic exercises into their daily routine.

The physician to the King, Hua Tuo, created 5 Animal Qigong, the first Medical Qigong form. Its primary objectives were prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation.

Chinese medicine recognizes stagnation caused by a sedentary lifestyle, environmental factors, and suppressed or excessive emotions as the primary sources of pathogenetic stress and illness. Medical Qigong provides a self-healing tool to deal with these challenges.

What Is White Tiger Medical Qigong

White Tiger Medical Qigong is a very dynamic form of Qigong and is a sub-branch of Taoist Medical Qigong. The Medical Qigong practice activates vital energy flow (Qi) in the body through pulsing acupressure points and wringing out Meridians or vital energy pathways like a towel and organs like a sponge. It strengthens bones and muscles through deep stances.

White Tiger Medical Qigong takes Applied Classical Chinese Medicine Theory and combines it with concepts of modern sports science, sports medicine and neuroscience. It uses the principles of Kinetic Chains – how segments and joints in the body affect one another – and anatomy to understand physical movement, and activates the fascia lines in the body by moving the spine and extremities in all directions. It uses nerve, tissue, and joint flossing through gliding and twisting movements within the body’s full range of motion to activate circulation and blood flow.

White Tiger Medical Qigong follows Taoist principles by teaching to move and flow with the 5 Elements of Nature, embody the spirit of animals, and balance Yin & Yang. While Modern Medical Qigong focuses on symptomatic treatment, White Tiger Qigong aims at transforming emotions into new behavioral patterns through conscious movement, breathing and meditation techniques.

White Tiger Medical Qigong Consists of 3 Major Components

Meridian Qigong

Medical Qigong exercises that twist, coil and uncoil the body all the way to hands and feet wring out the meridians like a towel, squeezing out toxins, trauma, toxic emotions, healing injuries, and creating balance throughout the fascial system.

Organ Qigong

Qigong exercises that squeeze out the organs like a sponge which squeezes toxins and emotions out of the organs and allows vital energy circulation and Qi or electromagnetic energy to penetrate deeply inside the organs. It helps give rooms for the organs to relax in their sphere.

Bone Qigong

Bone Qigong exercises contain deep stances that twist and wrap the tendons all the way into the bone, improving circulation into the bones and increasing the density of bone marrow, thus, improving personal health, bone strength, boosting the immune system, and longevity.
