Turtle Looks Behind: Enhance Flexibility and Relieve Tension

Turtle Looks Behind is a gentle twisting exercise that increases spinal flexibility and stimulates energy flow along the back. By rotating the upper body and arms while keeping the knees forward, this movement helps release tension in the neck and shoulders and encourages mindful breathing.

Two Hands Moving Heavens: Open the Chest and Energize the Body

Two Hands Moving Heavens is an uplifting stretch that opens the chest and elongates the spine. By interlacing the fingers, reaching upward, and bending side to side, this movement expands the lungs, improves posture, and grounds the body’s energy.

How to Perform Two Hands Moving Heavens

  • Interlace your fingers and lift your hands to chest level.

  • At shoulder height, flip your palms to face the sky and stretch upward, rising onto your toes.

  • Exhale and bend to one side, opening your chest.

  • Inhale back to center, rise up, then exhale and bend to the other side.

  • Finish by lowering your arms, palms facing the earth to ground your energy.

Benefits of Two Hands Moving Heavens

  • Expands the chest and lungs for improved breathing

  • Stretches the entire body, relieving stiffness

  • Boosts alertness and mental clarity

  • Grounds and balances energy

Eagle Spreads Its Wings: Build Strength and Activate Vitality

Eagle Spreads Its Wings is a dynamic side stretch that strengthens the legs and core while activating the mingmen (lower back) energy center. By shifting weight, extending one arm overhead, and the other hand to the lower back, this movement enhances balance, flexibility, and overall vitality.

How to Perform Eagle Spreads Its Wings

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, arms at shoulder level.

  • Shift weight to one leg, extend the opposite leg back, and raise the corresponding arm overhead.

  • Place the other hand on your lower back (mingmen).

  • Feel the stretch from ankles to fingertips, keeping the chest open.

  • Repeat on both sides, always extending the same arm and leg.

Benefits of Eagle Spreads Its Waist

  • Strengthens legs and core for better balance

  • Stretches sides, hips, and shoulders

  • Activates the mingmen point to boost vitality

  • Improves coordination and body awareness

Closing the Practice: Integrate Calm and Energy

To finish, inhale and circle your arms upward, rising onto your toes. Exhale and press your hands down, grounding your energy. Place your hands over your lower dantian (three fingers below the navel) and stand quietly, allowing your body and mind to absorb the benefits.
