How does 5 Element Qigong differ from 5 Animal Qigong?

5 Element Qigong and 5 Animal Qigong are powerful forms within White Tiger Qigong, each offering unique benefits:

  • 5 Element Qigong is the most intense and "hardest-hitting" form. It's designed to make you sweat. This form focuses on balancing organs and emotions through the Five Elements:
  1. Kidneys (Fear/Courage)
  2. Heart (Desire/Contentment)
  3. Liver (Anger/Forgiveness)
  4. Lungs (Grief/Joy)
  5. Spleen (Anxiety/Nurtured)

    Its movement style is staccato with deep breathing, and it's ranked highest for strengthening.

    5 Animal Qigong is based on animal movements and offers the most variety. It is considered the most complex form. While intense, it ranks second in intensity compared to 5 Element Qigong. It's often recommended for variety or as cross-training. Practices like Snake Qigong within this system are linked to specific benefits, such as helping with general constipation and gastritis.
Are there any precautions I should take before practicing Qigong?
